By definition, copyright is "the exclusive legal right, given to an originator or an assignee to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material, and to authorize others to do the same." In much simpler terms, copyright protects content from being stolen and used from the orginial creator.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own. You can plagirize someones paper or music or really anything if you copy it and do not give them credit.

Fair Use
By definition, Fair use is the doctrine that brief excerpts of copyright material may, under certain circumstances, be quoted verbatim for purposes such as criticism, news reporting, teaching, and research, without the need for permission from or payment to the copyright holder. Much simpler put, it is any material that you copy verbatim without the consent of the owner. Mostly it is a news articles or research.
